The Art of Project Management
Just like that, it’s now October. Time files⏳⌛⏳⏳. But let’s discuss Project Management, started full-time learning PM (at PMI PH🇵🇭) when I told my boss in 2015 that I wanted to be one. It took me years but it’s a stock knowledge and relevant to the workplace which I don’t regret at all. 👴👴💻
ELI5 Story about Project management:
Imagine you have a big LEGO set, and you want to build🔨👷🏗️ a complicated spaceship. Project management is like having a plan, organizing your LEGO pieces, and following step-by-step instructions to build the spaceship🚀🚀🚀👽.
A project manager is like the master builder👷 who makes sure everyone knows what to do, when to do it, and how to use the LEGO pieces effectively. They also keep an eye on the progress, making sure everything fits together smoothly and the spaceship🚀 is completed on time and looks just like you imagined.
The Art:
The art of project management lies in the ability to balance various elements such as time, resources, scope, quality, and stakeholders’ expectations to achieve project goals and sometimes escalations haha. It involves creative problem-solving, effective communication, and leadership skills to guide a team toward success.
A skilled project manager understands that every project is unique and may require different approaches and strategies. They know how to motivate their team, resolve conflicts, and adapt plans when unexpected challenges arise. The art also encompasses the ability to foresee potential issues and plan to mitigate risks.
In essence, the art of project management involves applying PMBOK, experience, and intuition to orchestrate a collaboration among team members and stakeholders, ensuring the project is completed successfully and everyone involved is satisfied with the results.
Is it easy to do project management? Maybe or maybe not. But you need to perfect the art, Project management skills are valuable for many professionals, but not every role requires full proficiency in project management. However, having a basic understanding of project management principles can benefit individuals in various fields.
While project management skills are useful, not everyone needs to be a certified project manager. Individuals can benefit from a basic understanding of project management and apply relevant concepts to their specific roles and responsibilities.
It’s Sunday today, why I’m blogging about project management 👽😝🤑🤑🤑. Do I miss work? Nah.
